It’s the equinox. It’s time to pay attention to balance.

Breath and Balance

Today, focus on exhaling during your 15 minutes of breathing. Begin your breath with exhale. Exhale completely. Let the inhale take care of itself.

Tomorrow, focus on inhaling. Begin your breath with inhale, practicing Hug Your Heart. Let the exhale take care of itself.

The next day, back to focusing on exhale.

And so on and so forth for a week or so.

Begin to notice how balance shows up in other areas of your life.

Water and Balance

Drink when you’re thirsty. One thing I’ve heard often from you is that you didn’t know how thirsty you were until you began drinking water. After drinking 8 glasses of water a day for a while, you began to notice your thirst.

Drink when you’re thirsty and drink every time you’re thirsty. Don’t ignore, don’t postpone. Drink when you’re thirsty and notice how much you drink in a day when you use thirst as your guide. Begin to include other fluids in your count — healthful fluids like teas and juices. When you pay attention to your thirst and honor it, how much do you drink in a day?

What else do you begin to notice that you might not have been paying attention to?

These practices may seem plain and simple, but I’m willing to bet they’ll create change. Let me know how it goes.
