This is issue #100 of Tenacity Notes! Wow. Congratulations to all of us for our tenacity.
Someone recently asked me what my philosophy of life was. Although I’d never considered that question before, I answered without pause.
“Always leave a place better than you found it.”
When I was a Girl Scout I thought that referred to campsites. Always leave a campsite better than you found it. But now, it’s broader. Always leave everything better than you found it — every interaction, every situation, every place, every one, every thing.
How do I leave everything better than I found it? I emanate love.
Do I know, in the moment, that the thing is better than I found it? Not necessarily. All I can do is to the best I can. Emanate love. Appreciate. Be curious. Enjoy.
